The Scarpa Team
Who We Are
Mia has been an invaluable part of the self-publishing process as the editor of Exit 14. She first discovered her talent for editing when, as an undergraduate, she was a tutor in the Writing Center at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania where she majored in Theatre. A former high school English teacher, Mia holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from Sacred Heart University as well as a Yoga teaching certification from the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. She currently resides in Manhattan where she is a professional actress and a member of Actors’ Equity Association.
After a lifetime of storytelling in the theater, Fran’s experience with interpreting dialogue and judging what works and doesn’t work when telling a story made her the perfect advisor for Gary and helped him develop a compelling plot for Exit 14. When not advising Gary, Fran is working for her daughter Gina at Positive Voices Studio as the office manager.
Gina holds a degree in Marketing from Post University, and she is the owner of Positive Voices Studio in Shelton, where she makes her living as a voice-over artist and the teacher of voice-over skills. Gina has contributed to Gary’s writing venture by advising him on the use of social media and the general marketing of Exit 14 as well as by holding
auditions for an artist to voice an eventual audio-book version of Exit 14.
Gary is grateful to his grandson, Michael, for his general enthusiasm and support, and for posing as the hitchhiker on the front cover
of Exit 14.
